Fester family in the pool
Clint Fester is a well known Forex Trader who has helped hundreds of people take their trading to the next level. In this article we ask Family man Clint Fester a few questions about what it’s like having a family and being a full time forex trader.
What’s it like being a family man?
Clint: I absolutely LOVE IT! My family means everything to me, they 100% the reason for my success and where I am in life today. I don’t think my drive and determination to WIN at life would be as strong as it was the day I became a dad. Things changed when I became a dad and in a good way. Sometimes it’s tough juggling it between a full time entrepreneur/forex trader but my wife is super supportive and carries a lot of the duties so Im thankful for having a super mom like herself
What’s it like being a forex trader?
Clint: Hahahaha It’s a crazy rollercoaster of emotions day in and day out! But I wouldn’t change it for the world to be honest because I don’t know what else can give you this life for a couple thousand dollars of what I like to call “school fees” forex is very misunderstood where I’m from about 90% of people think its a “scam” and I don’t blame them at all. This is not taught in our curriculum so it’s normal for people to think making $1000 a day for example is impossible because the average monthly income in South Africa is $500.
To sum it up, being a Forex Trader is my life, I love it, I breathe it and I talk about it daily, it’s in my blood.
Does having a family ever get in the way of your Forex Trading?
Clint: Like I said I’m grateful for my wife as she takes on a lot. The only time I really step away from my family is when I step into my office and see to my emails and chart analysis which I do for about 2 hours a day. So I have it quite balanced out now compared to 3 years ago where it was more an obsession and I chose Forex over family time. To the newbies reading this, FIND that balance between family and trading immediately don’t let forex trading consume you 100% Plan your days accordingly because when you Fail to Plan, you Plan to Fail.
How do you manage both?
Clint: I plan my days accordingly with a set schedule that I try to abide to all the time
What would you recommend for someone with a family looking to become a Forex Trader?
Clint: Check out a website called babypips.com where you will find loads of basic knowledge regarding forex trading and there’s no rush. Put the kids to bed etc and spend 1 or 2 hours a night on your laptop with a pen and notebook, take notes and gain understanding. Do that for about a month or so and then do an in person or an online course with a reputable company or forex trader that does courses. There’s plenty out there so choose wisely.
